Derek: It's a big get for Buffalo. Davidson has tons of experience as a president in this league, and Krebs is a solid young piece. But for us, it's more about the teams we're directly fighting with in the Metro.
Allison: Right, the Sabres are Atlantic, so not our direct problem. But the Rangers? They were graded on their free agency, and some folks think they're back. What's the real story?
Derek: The Rangers had a tough year, but they've made some moves. They're always dangerous with that top-end talent. I think they'll be better, but I'm not ready to crown them division champs just yet.

Derek: I agree, but we need our goaltending to be solid. Thompson and Lindgren, they're capable, but they need to be consistent. If they are, we can compete with anyone.
