Paul: It's solid, but not elite. Parayko is a workhorse, Fowler brings offensive ability, and Carlo is a shut-down guy. Broberg has upside. The question is depth beyond that. If someone gets hurt, they're in trouble. But as a top four, yeah, they can compete.
Amanda: And goaltending? We've got Binnington and Hofer. Is there a controversy brewing?
Paul: Not yet. Binnington is the starter, plain and simple. He's proven he can win a Cup. Hofer is a great backup and could push for more starts, but there's no controversy unless Binnington struggles out of the gate.

Paul: That's a tough one, Mike. Dube is a talented player, and he's earned a contract. But there's a cloud over him. I think the team is giving him a chance to move forward, and fans will have to decide for themselves. On the ice, he can help the fourth line and penalty kill.

Paul: I'm taking Robert Thomas. He's smart, he's got good taste, and he'd probably have the best stories. Plus, he'd handle the driving like he handles the puck — smooth and effortless.
Amanda: I'm going with Pavel Buchnevich. He's got that European charm, and he'd probably find the best food spots. We'd eat our way across the country.
Paul: I like that. Now, for the lightning round. I'll give you a quick take, you give me one. First: The Blues will finish higher than 5th in the Central.
