Nicole: Wow, that is a long list. But we know who the main starters are. Who do you think gets the ball tonight? The Angels are coming off a win, so momentum is with them slightly.
Kevin: Logan Gilbert is usually the ace when healthy. George Kirby is the other workhorse. If the Mariners want to take control of the series, they need one of those two to go deep into the game. The bullpen has been stretched thin with injuries, so relying on the starter is crucial.
Nicole: Right. And we mentioned Andres Munoz is Day-To-Day. That affects the late innings significantly. If he can’t go, who takes the save role? Michael Rucker or Gabe Speier?
Kevin: It’s a toss-up. The management will likely go with whoever has the best numbers in the last week. But the key here is getting past the 6th inning. If the starters can’t get outs, the bullpen gets exposed.

Kevin: Randy Arozarena is always a threat. He’s in LF. He creates chaos. J.P. Crawford provides stability at shortstop. Cal Raleigh is a power hitter behind the plate. If they can exploit platoon splits against the Angels' relievers, Seattle wins this series.
Nicole: But we can’t ignore the injuries again. Brendan Donovan is on the 7-Day IL. Brennen Davis is on the 60-Day IL. Will Wilson is on the 60-Day IL. Ben Joyce is on the 15-Day IL. George Klassen is on the 15-Day IL. Nolan Schanuel is on the 10-Day IL. Kyren Paris is on the 10-Day IL. Samy Natera Jr. is on the 15-Day IL. Cole Wilcox is on the 15-Day IL.
Kevin: It’s a lot of bodies missing. The Angels have their own issues, but Seattle’s depth is being tested. This is where players like Leo Rivas at 3B or Weston Wilson at 3B need to step up. Or even Michael Arroyo at SS if J.P. needs rest.
Nicole: Depth is everything in September. Even if the playoffs are a long shot, keeping the core healthy is vital. Let’s move to Segment Three. Keys to the series and my bold prediction.
Kevin: My key is pitching efficiency. If the starters throw under 100 pitches, the Mariners win. If they go over, the bullpen gets tired, and the Angels capitalize. It’s simple math.
Nicole: I agree. Efficiency wins games. My prediction is a sweep. I said it yesterday, and I stand by it. The Mariners are hungry. They lost to Houston, they lost last night to LA, but they have the talent to bounce back.
Kevin: A sweep is optimistic. I’ll stick with three wins out of four. But if Julio and the offense click, the sweep is very possible. The Angels are struggling, 61-98. They are fighting for nothing. Seattle is fighting for pride.
