Paige: Let's get into it. Segment one, the series and the pitching probables.
Paige: Alright Craig, let's start with the big picture. The Astros are sitting at 65-65, but they're still in first place in the AL West. How are we feeling about that?
Craig: It's a weird spot, right? A .500 team leading the division. But that's the reality of this season. The division has been wide open, and the Astros have been just good enough to stay on top.
Paige: We talked yesterday about the series, and Craig, you predicted a 5-2 win with Yordan going deep. That didn't exactly play out. What happened last night?
Craig: Yeah, I was wrong on that one. The A's rallied for three runs in the eighth inning to beat us 4-3. That snapped their five-game losing streak, and it stings because we had control of that game.
Paige: Donovan Walton homered, Tommy White had three hits. And our bullpen just couldn't hold the line. That's a tough way to lose.

Paige: Speaking of injuries, the Astros have a lot of names on the IL. Carlos Correa is on the 60-day, Brice Matthews, Brandon Walter, Jose Suarez, Brooks Kriske, Denzel Clarke... it's a long list.
Craig: It's been a tough year for injuries, that's for sure. And it's forced some guys into bigger roles than they might be ready for. But that's the reality of a 162-game season. Next man up.
Paige: And we can't forget about Yainer Diaz and Christian Vazquez behind the plate. They've been solid, but they're also dealing with the wear and tear of the season.
Craig: Yeah, catching is a grind. But those guys have been professional all year. We need them to finish strong.
Paige: Let's talk about the offense. Yordan Alvarez has been carrying this team. He had a big game on Friday with two doubles and two RBIs. Last night, though, it was quiet. What do we need from him today?
Craig: We need Yordan to be Yordan. He's the heart of this lineup, and when he's locked in, he can change the game with one swing. But he can't do it alone. We need contributions from the top of the order, from Jose Altuve, Jeremy Pena, Christian Walker, all those guys.

Craig: They need to provide some length. They don't all have to be stars, but they need to grind out at-bats, get on base, and turn the lineup over. When the bottom of the order is productive, that's when this offense really clicks.
Paige: And what about the defense? We've seen some shaky moments in the field lately. How important is that today?
Craig: Defense is huge, especially in a tight game. We can't afford to give extra outs to a team like the A's. They'll make you pay if you let them hang around. We need clean, crisp defense behind our starter.
Paige: Alright, let's move on to segment three. Keys to the series and a bold prediction.
Paige: So Craig, we're heading into the rubber match. What's the number one key to taking this series?
Craig: For me, it's all about the starting pitching. We need a quality start, six or seven innings, giving up two runs or fewer. That keeps the bullpen out of high-leverage situations early and gives our offense a chance to build a lead.
Paige: And offensively, what's the key?
Craig: We need to be aggressive early in the count, especially against their starter. We can't let him settle into a rhythm. And we've got to get that big hit with runners in scoring position. That was missing last night.
Paige: And what about the bullpen? We've talked about the concerns. Can you trust them in a close game today?
Craig: I think you have to trust them, but you also have to manage them carefully. If the starter can give you seven, you're looking at a two-inning bridge to Hader. That's a good spot to be in. But if you're asking for four or five innings from the pen, that's trouble.
Paige: Now, time for predictions. Craig, you went 0-for-1 yesterday. What are you going with today?
Craig: I'm going to stick with the Astros to bounce back. I think we see a strong start from our guy, and the offense wakes up. Give me a 4-2 Astros win, and Yordan gets back on track with a home run.
Paige: I like that. I'm going to go a little bolder. I think the Astros win big, 7-3, and we see a couple of homers from the middle of the order. And I think our starter goes seven strong innings with eight strikeouts.
Craig: I hope you're right, Paige. That would be a great way to head into the next series.
