Natalie: Today we're previewing the big three-game set against the Kansas City Royals. We'll break down the pitching matchups, the red-hot bats, the bullpen questions, and of course, we'll make a bold prediction.
Scott: And trust me, you don't want to miss this one. We've got a lot to get to.
Natalie: Alright Scott, let's start with the matchup. The Guardians are 68-66, sitting second in the AL Central, and they're riding a seven-game winning streak. The Royals are coming to Progressive Field. What are we looking at for the pitching probables?
Scott: Well, we don't have the official probables yet, but we know the rotation. Gavin Williams is lined up to start the opener on Friday. He's been electric lately, and he's coming off a strong outing against the Rockies.
Natalie: And we predicted he'd go seven innings and Jose Ramirez would homer against Colorado. He went six and gave up two runs, but no homer for Jose. So we were close.
Scott: Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, but Williams still looked sharp. He's got the stuff to dominate any lineup.
Natalie: Then who's after him? We've got Tanner Bibee and Joey Cantillo?
Scott: Exactly. Bibee has been the anchor of this rotation all year. And Cantillo, when he's on, he's tough. But the Royals have some lefty bats that could give him trouble.
Natalie: Right. And the Royals, they're not exactly world-beaters this year, but they're division rivals. They always play us tough.
Scott: No doubt. They've got some young talent, and they're dangerous if you sleep on them. But our pitching has been the key to this streak. We've been getting quality starts and the bullpen has been locking it down.

Natalie: Welcome back. We're talking Guardians baseball, and Scott, we have to start with Steven Kwan. That guy is absolutely locked in.
Scott: He's been unreal. Five hits in one game, then a tying double in the ninth in the next. He's just spraying line drives all over the field.
Natalie: And how about Travis Bazzana? That kid is playing like a veteran. That sacrifice fly to win it against the Angels? Clutch.
Scott: He's got ice in his veins. And Jose Ramirez, he's been doing Jose things. Five RBIs with three doubles in that extra-inning win? That's MVP-level stuff.
Natalie: So what's the key for these hitters against the Royals? They've got some decent arms.
Scott: Plate discipline. We need to work counts, get their starter out early, and get into that bullpen. That's how we've been winning games.
Natalie: And what about the injuries? We've got a few guys banged up. Rhys Hoskins is on the IL, Chase DeLauter is day-to-day. How does that affect the lineup?
Scott: Well, it hurts, no doubt. Hoskins provides power, and DeLauter is a spark plug. But we've got guys like David Fry and Angel Martinez who can fill in. The depth is there.
Natalie: And we saw that last night. Down early, but they never quit. That's the mark of a good team.
Scott: Exactly. And that's why I'm confident going into this series. This team believes they're going to win every night.
Natalie: Alright, so we've got the pitching, we've got the hitting. But what's the one thing that could derail this streak? Let's talk about that next.
Natalie: Alright Scott, we're back. So what's the key to this series? What do the Guardians have to do to keep this streak alive?
Scott: First and foremost, get ahead early. We can't keep falling behind and relying on late-inning heroics. That's not sustainable.
Natalie: Right. And we need the starters to eat innings. Our bullpen is a little thin with all those injuries.
Scott: Exactly. If Gavin Williams can give us seven innings, that sets up the back end of the bullpen perfectly. And then we need the offense to keep rolling.
Natalie: So what's your bold prediction for this series, Scott?
Scott: I'm going to say the Guardians sweep the Royals, and they win at least two of the three games by three runs or more. And I think Jose Ramirez hits a home run in the series.
Natalie: I like that. I'm going to say the winning streak extends to ten games. And I'll say Steven Kwan gets at least two hits in every game.
Scott: That's bold. But with the way he's swinging the bat, I wouldn't bet against it.
